About This iMac

The iMac7,2 Core 2 Duo (Integrated Graphics) computer is designed for the education market, it has all the features of the other versions released in  2006 however it differed the graphics processor, from which it also got its name – Intel GMA 950 “integrated graphics”.
Another difference in this particular brand is the absence of standard Bluetooth connectivity.

Storage

The device is built with 160.0 GB Serial ATA (1.5Gb/s) hard drive storage with a disk speed of 7200 RPM.

Screen Size and Resolution

The iMac Core 2 Duo features a 17 inch screen with TFT active matrix LCD display and a native resolution of 1440×900.

Processor & Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

The iMac Core 2 Duo has the Mac OS X 10.4.7 (8K1106) operating system pre-installed on it. It is powered by a 1.83 GHz processing speed Intel. Its graphics processor is the Intel GMA 950 “integrated graphics” which is 64 MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory of the computer.

Memory & Architecture

The device is built with 2 MB on-chip level 2 cache with a frontside bus of 667 MHz and with 512 MB of 667 MHz PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM for its RAM.

Upgradability

Although the iMac Core 2 Duo came with 512 MB of RAM it can be upgraded up to 2 GB of RAM.

The Operating System of the iMac can also be upgraded from its pre-installed Mac OS X 10.4.7 (8I2057) up to MacOS X 10.6.8. This iMac was also able to act as a host to Window OS, mainly running Windows XP SP2 (32-Bit) and more recently Windows Vista (32-Bit).

This iMac Core 2 Duo has the following dimensions (43.0 cm, 42.6 cm, 17.3 cm) as well as a weight of 15.5 lbs (7 kg)
